Effigie:	- Pièces de 1, 2 et 5 cents: Feuille de chêne, symbole de la justice pour les anciens Germains. - Pièces de 10, 20 et 50 cents: Porte de Brandebourg de Berlin, symbole de la réunification en 1990. Il a été   édifié en 1788 par Langhans. - Pièces de 1 et 2 euros: Aigle impériale, symbole de la puissance et de l'autorité de l'Allemagne, de la   souveraineté et de la liberté.
Dessinateurs:	- Pièces de 1, 2 et 5 cents: dessinées par Rolf Lederbogen. - Pièces de 10, 20 et 50 cents: dessinées par Reinhard Heinsdorff. - Pièces de 1 et 2 euros: dessinées par Heinz et Sneschana Russewa-Hoyer.
Atelier:	- 5 ateliers monétaires existent en Allemagne. Chacun appose sa propre lettre sur les monnaies. - A pour Berlin, atelier qui est le plus ancien (fin du XIIIe siècle). - D pour Munich. - F pour Stuttgart. - G pour Karlsruhe. - J pour Hambourg.
Différents:	- Aucun différent ne figure sur les pièces, hormis les lettres d'ateliers.
Tranche:	- 2 cents: Tranche lisse avec un sillon creux, - 20 cents: 7 encoches sur la tranche, - 50 cents: Tranche cannelée, - 1 euro: Succession de plages lisses et striées, - 2 euros: Inscription "einigkeit und recht und freiheit" suivi de l'aigle impériale.   Signification: "unité et justice et liberté".
